iPhone 4S was released on October 14 and while people are still mulling over whether or not they should invest in a new iPhone, we've come up with a post that aptly describes the difference between iPhone 4 and 4S. Particularly helpful for those who had been waiting on the iPhone 5.

Design:

When it comes to design, there is no significant different between iPhone 4 and 4S. It is exactly the same as iPhone 4 and all of your existing cases will fit it almost perfectly. Apple has made changes to the antenna however that does not imply that there is a difference in design. Bear in mind that all changes made in iPhone 4S are found under the hood as this latest iPhone update comes with no cosmetic changes. The screen retains its 3.5" size with a 649x960 Retina Display.

Power:

There exists a major difference between iPhone 4 and 4S. That's under the hood so to speak as the latter comes with a dual-core A5 processor capable of supplying enough processing power to keep all tasks and apps going as smoothly as they can. This new processor also allows for a greatly enhanced gameplay with better graphics. iPhone 4 had the single core A4 processor which was no slouch. The iPhone 4S has the same 512MB of RAM as that on iPhone 4.

Camera:

The iPhone 4S has a far more advanced camera as compared to iPhone 4. The former has an 8 megapixel camera, an upgrade to the latter's 5 megapixel one. The front facing camera retains its 0.3 megapixels on iPhone 4S however pixels have gone up from 720 to 1080. While the iPhone 4 could only record HD video at 720p, the camera on iPhone 4S is capable of recording full HD video at 1080p with auto image stabilization. The camera module on iPhone 4S has an extra lens which greatly increases the level of detail in pictures.

Connectivity:

There is also a significant difference between iPhone 4 and 4S when it comes to connectivity. The iPhone 4 was a quad-band smartphone separately compatible with GSM and CDMA networks. The iPhone 4S on the other hand is a dual-mode GSM and CDMA smartphone meaning that the user can switch between both types of networks without having to carry separate iPhones for these two network types.

Storage:

The iPhone 4 can be bought in 8, 16 or 32GB variants while storage options have gone up with the iPhone 4S. The 4S comes in 16, 32 or 64GB variants in either black or white colors. These three models can either be purchased on contract or officially unlocked.

Siri Voice Assistant:

This is probably the defining feature of iPhone 4S. Siri voice assistant is artificial intelligence at its best and is only exclusive to iPhone 4S, for now. Siri is your digitial personal assistant that lives inside your iPhone 4S and will do all of your tasks for you, after you ask it nicely that is. Siri is one major difference between iPhone 4 and 4S because it wasn't released on iPhone 4 and Apple will not officially release Siri for iPhone 4, ever.

We've compared the major differences between both of these iPhones in detail above and that just about all that is there to it. We hope that our list of this difference between iPhone 4 and 4S helps you in making the right choice because many had been waiting for a totally redesigned iPhone 5 and all they got was a minor update of iPhone 4. Its always better to know what the actual differences are between two products that look exactly the same and yet one requires you to shell out over $649 at a minimum. On two-year contract prices start from $199.
